Before I began this painting, I knew I was to paint a kingdom symbol; I just didn’t know what it would look like. To me it is symbolic of a full cup or a horn of plenty. Its message is about the many facets of God’s abundant provision ready and waiting for us to harvest. What do you see? Here are some responses I got from viewers: earth tones, harvest, corn, tassels indicating ripeness, a large seed, many seeds being pressed down, a horned covering over the top, a faceted background representing the many ways God supplies all of our needs. As I prayed, I understood that it is time for a new Kingdom mindset of plenty versus lack, love versus fear, and power versus hopelessness. God wants to bless us and wants us to bless, but we cannot have a harvest to share if we have a lack or poverty mentality. I believe the Holy Spirit is searching our hearts to remove any blockages hindering the flow of His love and blessings. Do you have a need? Do you believe he will meet it? He is our source for every need and wants us completely filled, empowered and overflowing with His provisions so that we are able to fully fill our purposes on the earth. I once heard a wise woman in children’s ministry, Jilly Bean, say “and the blessings keep flowing and flowing and they never run out.” It is so important to remember that and to keep giving and forgiving freely, cheerfully, without fear, control or expectation of return from the recipient. This is not a time to hoard or withdraw in fear. As we trust in God’s love and desire to meet all of our needs there will be no lack. Therefore, we come out of agreement with lack, fear and hopelessness and come into agreement with Jehovah Jireh’s abundance, love and power.
Scripture references:
II Corinthians 9:6-15 “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart not grudgingly or of necessity for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work…For the administration of this [giving] service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God…and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you.
Luke 6:34,37-39 “Judge not…Condemn not…Forgive…Give, and it will be given to you: good measure pressed down, shaken together, and running over…For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
James 1:2-8 “…count it all joy…the testing of your faith produces patience…that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing…If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him…ask in faith without doubting….”
I Corinthians 13:4-13 “Love suffers long and is kind…Love never fails…when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away…And now abide faith, hope, love…the greatest of these is love.
I John 4:17-18 “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
Luke 21:26-28 “And there will be signs…distress of nations…men’s hearts failing them from fear…Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."
