It all started with a heartbeat, a rhythm, an EKG on canvas, if you will. Then came the warm colors of lemon sunlight and the soft shades of lilac. It wasn’t planned, but I understood the message as I saw the resting figure emerge.
Sometimes, I just need to slow down my anxious heart and rest — realizing all is well between my Creator and me. Knowing rest in the midst of living life is possible when “I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore, my heart is glad and my glory [my inner self] rejoices; my body too shall rest and confidently dwell in safety … You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:8-9,11 AMP).
Take a moment to bask in Him. Feel the stress melting away and your heartbeat slowing down. Rest….
